Welcome to Grade 9-2 Science.

This course is made up of 4 Units which include:

Unit 1 --Space
Unit 2 -- Chemistry
Unit 3 -- Electricity
Unit 4 -- Reproduction

Science 9-2 Homework:

May 2:

~ TErm quiz on terms 21-30 will be Thursday.

~ All sections, that is sections A,B and C were corrected in class today!!

~Chapter 5 will be started next day.

May 1 :

~ Test date for Chapter 4 has been set for May 8.

~ Continue to work on the review for chapter 4!!

~Term quiz for terms 11-20 will be May 2 if you did not complete it today !!

April 27:

~ Complete up to number 41 on the review sheet for Chapter 4 for Wednesday May 2!! Review all material covered in chapter 4 thus far!!

~ Term quiz on terms 11-20 will be on May 2!

April 25:

~ Read over handout of notes up to Mutations.

~ Complete questions 1,2 nd 3 on page 113 for next class!

April 24:

~Reminder that Terms are due tomorrow !1

April 23rd:

~If you have not already done so please pass in the STSE assignment on Electricity by tomorrow ---April 24!

~Terms for Unit 4 have been distributed and must be completed by Wednesday, April 25!! Those terms not found in the text will be given to you in class tomorrow.

~ Term quiz dates are as follows:

1-10 Friday April 27

11-20 Wednesday May 2

21- 30 Thursday May 4

31-37 Monday May 7

December8th:

~ Students corrected the definitions for unit 2.

~We reviewed the test and filled in the correct answers where necessary.

Term quiz dates will be announced in tomorrow's class and they are as follows:

1-10 = Dec 12

11-20 = Dec 14

21-30 = Dec 16

31-40 = Dec 19

41-53= Dec 21

Nov.28

~ Congratulations on a successful science fair!!

~Test is going to be on Friday, Dec.2, 2011!!

~Review will be tomorrow --bring all duo tang materials !!

Nov.23:

~ Review for Chapter 3 is completed. Bring all materials to next class for further review.

Nov21:

~Students have been working on the worksheets given in class ! Worksheets 1 and 2 should be completed for next class which is tomorrow.

~We will be working on the chapter 12 review tomorrow !

~Test date for Unit 1 is December 2!!

Nov.17:

~ Students have been given the review for chapter 12 !! Test date on Unit 1 will be announced early next week.

~Students need to bring in their Science Fair Portfolios on Monday!!

Nov14:

~ Students are to email the projects we were working on today to my esdnl address !!

~ Read page 456-463

Nov. 9 :

Finish reading up to page436

Nov8:

~Students are asked to get duo tangs organized and return them to their portfolios in the classroom

Nov 1:

~Students have a test on Friday, Nov. 4 All reviews have been completed, corrected and returned ---Study and prepare for this test !!

October 27:

~ Students are reminded to continue working on their review sheets !! They will be corrected on Tuesday --Test is Friday, Nov. 4!

October 25:

~ Students completed chapter 11 --we reviewed the handout of notes!

~ Review sheets for chpt 11 were passed out --students are asked to work on the true/false, completion and matching sections -the question section will be worked on in class!

~ Review sheet will be corrected on Nov. 1

~ Test is November 4

October24:

~ Corrected homework and presentations on section 11.2 were completed!!

~Notes for section 11.3 were passed out and this section must be read for class tomorrow!

~ Review sheets were passed out in class

~We will be having a test on Friday, November 4th.

October18:

~Science Fair portfolios were handed out yesterday and we discussed how this year's science fair would work !!

~Science Fair will be on November 22nd, 2011

~Students will be given some class time to work on the project and students are more than welcome to stay after school next week on the following days to work on their projects ( rides must be prearranged for student pickup)

Wednesday--3-4:15pm

Thursday -- 3-4:15 pm

~Students are encouraged to get together with their partners and to get started on their projects !!

~Duo tangs for chapter 1 have been collected .

Septermber 27:

~ Foldables were passed in today.

~ Review assignment was worked on during class and will be corrected in class on Wednesday, Sept. 28!

~TEST DATE for chapter 10 is October 4!!

~ Term Quiz on terms 1-15 will be tomorrow!!
